Second our survivability (ignoring these abhorrent stand-still-and-tank demon hunter builds) is directly tied to our mobility, which is sub par to that of barbs, monks, and wizards outside of dumping all of our discipline into vault with tumble. At one point some time ago there was a working DPS meter, and I was getting obscene results like 3 million effective DPS from my 150k sheet DPS wizard on Ghom simply due to passive or over-time effects. The crux of the issue seems to be two parts.įirst our DPS is fairly tied up with our sheet DPS, where as other classes are taking advantage of all sorts of effects on their abilities that allow their damage to continue long after they've actually cast (tornadoes and bleeds from barbs, dots and ground effects from wizards, etc), allowing them to continue using other abilities while their damage is still ticking. I've always had this feeling, but when WW barbs were the cream of the crop I sort of just wrote it off as "oh well barbs are just really strong." However with the resurgence of CotA runs on high MP (aka Torment) and the changes that other classes have received with 2.0, it's feeling like once again we're the bottom of the barrel as long as we're looking to be efficient. TL DR: Are demon hunters too weak compared to other classes, and if so, what could be changed to bring us in line? Submissions to streaming sites must be to recorded content.
